Recent internal data shows nearly $2 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in Hawaii. The combined size of land for sale in Hawaii is 37,223 acres. Of the 5 counties in the state, Hawaii County had the most rural property and land for sale. Hawaii ranks among the country's smallest states in terms of size, covering an area of 10,932 square miles (7 million acres). Of this area, 6,423 square miles (58.8 percent) is land, while the remaining 4,509 square miles (41.2 percent) is covered by water (defined as inland lakes, Great Lakes water, coastal waters or territorial waters).
